The sizes are counted in squares on the Build Mode grid, not studs. 50x50 sounds like a modest step up from 30x30, but it is nearly three times the ground to build on.
30x30: what fits on a normal plot#
More than people expect. A 30x30 plot holds a full family house with a driveway and a small garden, and plenty of builders deliberately stick to it. blox architex even built a whole small town without Large Plot, and Arixlla fit a modern mansion on one.
A few habits make a small plot feel bigger:
- Build up, not out. If you have Multiple Floors, a narrow two storey house leaves room for a garden that a wide bungalow would swallow.
- Leave a border. A strip of trees or hedges along the plot edge hides the neighbours and makes the plot read as a garden instead of a lot.
- Put the driveway to one side. A centred driveway splits the front garden into two scraps too small to use.
50x50: Large Plot#
Large Plot costs 250 Robux and grows the plot boundary to 50x50. It also doubles your plot data limit, which on detailed builds matters as much as the extra ground. The old plot line still shows in Build Mode as a thicker line, which is handy when you want to see how much of the extra space you are using.
It is permanent and applies to all your plots. There is no setting to shrink back to 30x30 and nothing bigger than 50x50.
From our own catalog: 97% of our 68 finished builds need Large Plot. The bigger houses, resorts and estates simply do not fit on 30x30.
If the extra space feels empty, the wiki's own tip is a good one: fill the edges with trees so the plot blends into the map, and use the rest for a proper garden or a pool.
How many floors you can build#
- No gamepass: one floor.
- Multiple Floors (360 Robux): floors two to five. Move between them with the arrows on the Build Mode sidebar, or Page Up and Page Down.
- Basements (100 Robux): one level underground.
That makes six levels at most. You can place items on a roof on the top floor, so a roof terrace or a rooftop garden works, but walls, floors, fences and roofs cannot go up there.
The Multiple Floors page on the wiki warns against putting roofs between levels, since it can cause problems in game. Use floors for the ceiling of each storey and keep the roof for the top, and remember to leave a hole in the floor above your stairs.
For what it is worth, 96% of our builds use Multiple Floors. It is the gamepass almost every finished house ends up needing.
How basements work#
- Open Build, pick the Basements tool and drag across the grass to mark out the size.
- Every 1x1 square of basement costs $25, so a 10x10 basement is $2,500 before walls or furniture.
- A basement is one level deep. It has to be at least one square from the plot edge and two tiles away from any pool.
- You cannot extend a basement by adding walls and a door. Use the Basements tool again.
- Add walls before floors, or the floors and ceiling will not fit themselves to the space.
54% of our builds have a basement.
Plot data, and what happens at 100%#
Plot data is the percentage of your plot's item limit you have used. An empty plot is at 0%. It is not about ground space: a small house packed with detail can use more data than a large simple one.
- Large Plot doubles the limit. This is why detailed builders buy it even when they do not need the space.
- At 100% you can buy an extra 20% for 59 Robux. Before update 0.10.1 you had to delete things to keep building.
- Plants have their own cap. A plot can hold 800 plants, and harvests sell for less the more plants you have.
Extra plots#
You are not limited to one plot. A new house slot costs 300 Blockbux, and when you buy one you can start it empty or pick a prebuilt house. Your gamepasses apply to every slot.

Every build in our catalog lists the gamepasses it needs, so you can see before ordering whether it fits your plot. If you only have a 30x30 plot, these are the ones that do not need Large Plot. For the bigger houses, check what a Bloxburg house costs first.
