Yes. Alaska Violet built the same bedroom idea at $1k, $10k and $100k, and the cheap version still works. Layout and colour matter more than price.

Pick one set per room. A Boho bedroom next to a Scandi kitchen is fine, but Boho and Scandi pieces in the same room usually fight each other.

Small aesthetic bedrooms

The bed against a wall, not floating in the middle of a small room.
A rug under the bed that is wider than the bed.

Kitchens have had a lot of attention lately: new cabinets and appliances in the 2024 and 2025 winter updates, and a set of kitchen clutter items on September 10. Clutter is what stops a kitchen looking like a showroom.

Living and dining room ideas#

The living room is usually the biggest room in the house, which makes it the easiest to get wrong. Big rooms look empty unless you break them into areas: a seating area around a rug, a dining area under a light, a reading corner by a window.

Build Mode habits that make rooms look finished#

Copy colours instead of guessing. With the Paint tool (F), Shift+Click another item to pick up its exact colour.
See the room from above. Hold Space for a top down view, which makes spacing furniture much easier.
Hide the floor above. Press U to hide objects above the floor you are working on.
Use a smaller grid for decor. Press J to switch grid sizes, or H to turn the grid off.
Overlap small items. Books on a shelf, a blanket over a sofa arm and a plant tucked behind a chair all need collision off, which is Advanced Placing (K). Our Advanced Placing guide covers it.
Check the lighting at night. Press B to change the time of day in Build Mode.
